Introduction

Weynilo ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Weynilo (the "App").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Personal Information You Provide

When you create an account or use the App, we may collect:

• Account Information: Email address, password, full name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the email address and name that provider shares with us.
• Profile Information: Learning language preference, proficiency level, daily learning goals, and a profile picture if you choose to add one.
• User-Generated Content: Lesson progress, exercise responses, vocabulary practice data.

Guest Accounts

You can try a sample lesson and one AI conversation before creating an account. To do this, the App creates a temporary guest account so your progress works during the trial. A guest account holds no email address or name. If you go on to sign up, it becomes your account; if you do not, it is deleted along with its data.

Voice Recordings (AI Speaking Practice)

The AI Speaking feature records your voice so you can hold a conversation with an AI practice partner. Recording only happens while a practice call is open, and only after you have granted microphone permission.

• Your audio is streamed to our speech-processing providers so your speech can be understood and answered in real time.
• We do not store your voice recordings or conversation transcripts. Audio is processed as it is spoken and then discarded.
• We keep a simple counter of how many practice calls you have started each day, which is used only to apply usage limits.

You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device settings. The rest of the App works without it.

Automatically Collected Information

• Usage Data: Lessons completed, learning streaks, time spent in the app, progress statistics.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers.
• Analytics Data: App performance metrics, crash reports, feature usage, screens viewed and in-app taps collected via PostHog.

Payment Information

When you make in-app purchases:

• Payment processing is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device.
• We receive transaction confirmation and subscription status from Apple or Google.
• We do not store your credit card or payment details.

How We Use Your Information

2. Process Payments and Subscriptions

• Respond to support requests.
• Send promotional emails with your consent.

Data Storage and Security

Data Storage

• Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase using a PostgreSQL database.
• Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using platform-specific secure storage.
• Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.

Data Retention

• Active accounts: We retain your data as long as your account is active.
• Voice recordings: Not retained.
• Deleted accounts: All personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Legal requirements: We may retain certain data if required by law.

Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encryption of data in transit and at rest.
• Secure authentication with JWT tokens and refresh mechanisms.
• Regular security audits.
• Access controls and monitoring.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Advertising

Weynilo shows no advertising of any kind. We do not use advertising SDKs, we do not collect an advertising identifier, and we do not share your data with advertising networks. The App is funded entirely by subscriptions.

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Weynilo is designed to be safe for users of all ages, including children. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play Families Policy.

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
• Weynilo shows no advertising of any kind.
• We do not share children's data with third parties for marketing purposes.
• Voice recordings from AI speaking practice are not stored.
• Parents can request to review or delete their child's data by contacting us.

Your Privacy Rights

Access and Correction

• You can view and update your profile information in the app settings.
• Request a copy of your data by contacting us.

Data Deletion

• Delete your account and all associated data from the app settings.
• Request deletion by emailing weynilodev@outlook.com.
• All data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

Opt-Out Rights

• Notifications: Disable them in app settings.
• Microphone: Revoke permission in your device settings. Only AI speaking practice requires it.
• Analytics: Cannot be disabled in-app. Once you sign in, analytics events are linked to your account ID and email address; deleting your account removes this data.

European Users (GDPR Rights)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights:

• Right to access your personal data.
• Right to rectification of inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten").
• Right to restrict processing.
• Right to data portability.
